What Guides our Work

At So’oh-Shinálí Sister Project, our work is grounded in our mission, vision for the future, four core values, and theory of change. Together, these guiding principles shape our programming and inform how we engage, collaborate, and build relationships with our community.

Our Vision

All community members will be able to engage in experiential learning and wellness practices that center Indigenous knowledges and values.

Our Values

Our four core values include relationships, respect, reciprocity, and responsibility.

1. Relationships

We recognize we are all interconnected. We uphold principles of kinship as we build and strengthen relations.

2. Respect

We maintain respect for tribal diversity, varying practices, perspectives, experiences, and approaches

3. Reciprocity

We understand the power of providing mutual support, giving back, and sharing resources.

4. Responsibility

We have a responsibility to care for our relatives in order to support and build community.

Our Theory of Change

SSSP's theory of change is anchored in four pillars: wellness, education, leadership, and resources. Like a river, these values flow from our urban roots, guiding our traditional approach to empowering communities.
