ROOTED IN RESILIENCE VIDEOS

We collaborated with families who were participants of our Rooted in Resilience Cohort to create a total of two, 2-4 minute impact videos capturing personal reflections and experiences from the series. The videos were designed to uplift community voices and highlight the important work led by the LACDMH AI/AN UsCC through these capacity-building initiatives.

Understanding the Past | History of Multigenerational Trauma

This video above features our opening session of Rooted in Resilience: Cultivating Positivity in Native Families, a LA County Department of Mental Health cohort based project aimed to help Native families foster positive interactions within their households. Cohort members share their reflections about their learnings of historical and multigenerational trauma and how they will use traditional knowledge and practices, such as beading, to build new pathways forward.

Building the Future | Cultivating Positivity and Resilience

This video above features our closing session of Rooted in Resilience: Cultivating Positivity in Native Families, a LA County Department of Mental Health cohort based project aimed to help Native families foster positive interactions within their households. Cohort members share their reflections about developing positive coping skills to support their emotional and mental health and discuss how traditional practices, such as weaving, serve as a metaphor for balance in the process of healing and sustaining our collective wellness.
