Tekenya Sanchez , a Navajo and Nahua woman raised in Los Angeles with strong ties to her heritage. Her art blends urban influences with traditional Navajo and Nahua symbols, stories, reflecting her cultural identity. Tekenya explores her heritage, nature, and revitalization to connect the past with the present. Staying in touch with the earth and using her pottery as a means to stay balanced as she walks the road of an urban Indian American.
